Triumphant Resilience: Celebrating Spinal Cord Injury Survivors Day 2025

by OAIDC
September 21, 2025

On September 5, 2025, Benue State became a hub of inspiration and unity as the Joint National Association of Persons with Disabilities (JONAPWD), Benue State Chapter, hosted an unforgettable Spinal Cord Injury Survivors Day. Led by the passionate and dedicated Chairman, Onah Adeyi, this event was a powerful celebration of the strength, resilience, and triumphs of individuals living with spinal cord injuries.

The day brought together survivors, caregivers, and stakeholders in a vibrant gathering filled with shared stories, meaningful connections, and a collective call for change. Through heartfelt presentations and inspiring personal accounts, the event shone a spotlight on the incredible contributions of spinal cord injury survivors to their communities. It challenged societal stigmas and highlighted the importance of breaking down barriers to create a more inclusive world.

This year’s celebration was more than just an event—it was a beacon of hope. It empowered survivors to embrace their journeys, reclaim their lives, and advocate for a future where accessibility and equity are not just ideals but realities. The stories shared were a testament to the unyielding human spirit, proving that resilience can triumph over adversity.

The JONAPWD Benue State Chapter’s commitment to raising awareness and fostering support left an indelible mark on all who attended. As we reflect on this remarkable day, we are reminded that together, we can build a world where everyone has the opportunity to thrive, regardless of the challenges they face.

Here’s to the survivors, their caregivers, and the advocates who continue to inspire us all. Let’s keep pushing for a more accessible and inclusive tomorrow!
